The Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, has said that maintaining peace and security in the country will be given the highest priority at a time when Tanzania has begun witnessing signs that could threaten national stability.
Speaking firmly and emotionally at a public rally held at Puma Grounds in Ikungi District, Singida Region, where he also took the opportunity to listen to and resolve citizens’ grievances, Dr. Nchemba stressed that the government would not tolerate any attempts to disrupt peace.
Dr. Nchemba said he would not tolerate any individual or group, whether from within or outside the country, that is planning to undermine Tanzania’s peace. He emphasized that political party meetings have been suspended until the government has addressed the emerging signs of threats to national peace and security.
He urged citizens to continue with their economic and productive activities, assuring them that the government is fully prepared to safeguard the country’s peace and security at all costs. He also warned anyone planning to disrupt the nation’s peace that the government would take firm action against them.
